An article about "positional morph", featured on the magazine's cover, is based on UFO. The article is now available online. |
Sound on Sound
"Sound-wise, UFO has plenty to offer (...) If you want to get sounds fast, without tangling with a million parameters, UFO is an affordable and engaging soft synth that's well worth a try." Review now available online. |
Grooves magazine
"UFO is capable of plenty of idiosyncratic tones that reside out of the reach of more conventional synths while retaining enough flexibility to handle familiar synthesis tasks without difficulty. UFO’s quick patching makes it ideal for both simple jobs and conjuring up more intricate textures-and the lack of strain on your CPU will give the usual favorites a run for their money. Above all, it’s fun to use, completely headache-free, and full of intriguing and useful sonic surprises. Future Audeon products will have to live up to some very high standards set by this debut." Review now available online. |
Future Music Magazine
"Audeon’s quirky, expressive and very original soft synth UFO is finally starting to get the notice it deserves. In the end, UFO works less because of its quirky interface and more because it sounds very good, particularly at timbres that evoke bygone eras. Perfect!" Review now available online. |
Electronic Musician
"As unusual as it is, UFO is surprisingly easy to grasp and to program. (...) It will have you creating and modifying presets in minutes. But the bottom line is the sound, and UFO definitely delivers." Review now available online. |
Virtual Instruments "UFO, simply doesn’t sound like anything else —visceral, colorful, varied, and unpredictable (...) It does things no other instrument will do, and that makes it a welcome addition to my ever-growing virtual rack." |

Beat Give away: win UFO in the april 2006 issue of the german Beat magazine. |
Beat The march 2006 issue of the german Beat magazine features a full 2 page review of UFO, announced on the magazine cover. “Strong, intense, lively and organic are the adjectives that probably describe the best UFO's sound. A synthesizer with character, which follows its own path far away from the mainstream. A winner for the performer who likes to experiment, and a recommendation for anybody who is tired of his virtual analog presets” Rated 5/6 |

Full review of UFO. "UFO brings novelty, not by piling up well known techniques but through a novel approach of both the synthesis algorithms and the interface" Tom Goldschmidt |
Computer Music (UK) "Audeon have ended up creating an instrument that's unique, flexible and, above all, intuitive and easy to patch." "Pleasingly, UFO spans the sonic spectrum - it can produce brash analogue timbres, shimmering digital sounds and everything in between. Depending on how you patch it, it can be harsh and gritty, or delicately sublime. What's more, few synths are as easy to patch as UFO. This is the sort of instrument that encourages you to make sounds that are truly your own, and we can't think of a better recommendation than that. " Rating: 8/10 |

A new synth with a very impressive potential Jean-Patrice Rémillard - Artist (Pheek) |

Ufo might very well end up being one of the most interesting new synths released in 2006. Jeff (KVR forum) |

I like the interface a lot, for morphing and powerful modulation cptgone (KVR forum) |
I like the broad range of different sounds (from church organs to electronic hardcore). But what makes the difference is the extensive and very intuitive controls over the sound. The user interface is really practical with its 2-D controllers, and its graphical design is great. It just seems like it misses hardware pads to directly control it... Anyway, for now, its a great pleasure making new sounds and tweaking them with UFO. Thierry Lafage |

The synth is so great for evolving pad type sounds. I like it very much. It is really very different from anything else I've tried, is really fun to set up many modulations with, etc. I just really appreciate that in no way is this synth attempting to emulate anything. I"ll be late for work this morning because I couldn't stop messing with this. Like the concept and sound. Really nice. Thank you for designing something that is unique. I really appreciate synths like this that are not simply variations on what has come before. Gene Schwartz |

This is the kind of synth that makes me happy to see. While I think technology needs it's own language, the use of language in the controls are slightly different in UFO yet make sense and are very simple, yet effective. I like its design and the wonderful way the synth's controls can do extreme things to the sound while also staying as close to where the patch was when you entered a filter, oscillator or formant section. It's got a unique and cool sound, that's for sure. Steve Evans |

As soon as you start using modulation sources or an external MIDI controller, UFO becomes particularly interesting. Eric Trochu - composer and producer (ert) |

I love the idea of drawing modulation arrows on the XY controllers. It's brilliant and super powerful! Creating an original sound often requires you to spend quite some time learning a complex product. No such thing with UFO: it's original, easy and logical. Olivier Sebillotte - pro musician |

UFO is a wonderful sounding(sure is a looker too) synth,I'm enjoying it immensely.I find that it first and foremost posesses a great sense of control and feel especially in response to the weight of playable touch enabling you to squeeze out many sonic nuances and fine detail with minimal effort....
